PROPERTY TAX BILLS

If you receive property tax bills after closing, please forward them to the buyer. You should also give notice to all taxing authorities of the change of ownership.

CANCEL OR TRANSFER ACCOUNTS

If you have not already done so, call all your utility companies and either cancel services or transfer them to your new home. Make sure those companies have your new address for any final bills which may be due. Don’t forget to change addresses with any periodicals and/or newspaper company.

NECESSARY INCIDENTALS

If there any extra house keys, garage remotes, ceiling fan remotes, mailbox keys or access codes, make sure to leave those items in the house for the new owner.

Don’t forget to set aside any manuals, warranty cards and/or receipts to the appliances, the HVAC, security and sprinkler systems.

DON'T FORGET

Submit a change-of-address form with the post office. Keep in mind that some mail cannot be forwarded, so you may need to change addresses directly with some other entities.
